You stare through the darkness of the bog.

The night-frogs scream in the wetness of the swamp, as if they're tired of being soaked with the acrid water of the spongemoss.
Your steps make a squishy sound.

You see a puddle to the right of you.

That's when you see the green glow.

It rained. In front of you is a puddle.

You don't recognize the face you see in the puddle.
[[Raise head|Village]]You stand on this hummock in the middle of a great, huge bog, with nowhere to go.
As you look around, nobody seems to be here.

You look in the horizon. There is a shining object far out in the bog, among the lesser-sized peat hummocks.
[[Venture out in the bog|Try going to next hummock]]<<set $bognets to true>>You come across two strange, flat net-like objects on your way back. They seem to hold feet, but they're much too big for a child like you.
[[Grab the nets]]
[[Keep on going]] You try them on. They're too big, but would allow you to walk for a short distance. Just enough to get to the next hummock?

You walk a few paces with the nets. They're clearly too big, and you sink.

You don't go far until you realize the bog is impassable. There must be a way.

[[Back to village center|Village]]You struggle. The nets won't hold up, but it's too late to stop.

[[Grab the nets]] [[Leave them there|Village]]You end up on the smaller hummock, seeing the village in the distance. The metal object seems closer, but you're stranded here.
[[Massage your feet]]The nets seem to be Your feet hurt from wearing oversized nets. You remove the bognets and massage them.
While you do that, you hear a trill.

On a poor, little, crummy berry tree, you see eleven tan birds.
They seem to want more out of that tree than it has.

You get to the bird. He makes a squawking sound, and you seem to hear an acute, ringing voice in your head.
<div class="dbox">"Deles. Deles. We've been looking for you. You're not dead. You must come to the ceremony."</div>

The bird who has eaten the single berry left on the tree gets chased by four others.
He flies towards the shining metal objects in the distance. Nine of them follow him.
The last one stays on the tree.

He caws.
The ten other birds come back.

The birds fly towards you and hold you by the shoulders.

<div class="say2">[[Fly with me!]] [[I might need those bognets...]]</div>You get a bird's eye view of the bog, and a better look at the metal object as the birds carry you towards it.
There are people on a metal platform, and they are staring at a hole in the bog.
[[Gesture to land]] You land on the platform and everyone stares at you.
In the hole is a body.
The body is the only person you've recognized since you've woken up, including your own reflection.
You freeze. The birds all line up on the edge of the platform.
[[Fight fear]] [[Burst into tears]]You fight, but your emotions get the better of you.
[[Cry|Keep crying]]Tears happen as you slowly realize the body is your old self.
The villagers look with compassion at the child crying in the middle of the platform.
A grandma comes and rubs your shoulder.
"Shhh."
She speaks in a foreign tongue to you. All you hear is gibberish. The people gather around you.
[[Keep crying]] [[Swallow your grief]]Grief strikes you like a ton of bricks.
You unleash sadness upon the crowd.
You seem to have delayed the ceremony, but people seem to understand.
[[Swallow your grief]] You respond to the lady with a nod.
She backs away, and a tall slender man from the crowd whistles. He hops off the platform, walking on his bog-nets into the spongemoss. Another woman follows him.

[[Stay on the platform]]The platform whirrs and the birds fly away back to the berry tree on the hummock in the distance.
The metal object then promptly rises in the air and from below, four legs walk the people back to the village.
You stay in the bog with your oversized bog-nets, with what seem to be the two ceremony masters, and your own past body in a hole next to you.
The two figures look at the body. The hooded man doesn't speak, the woman looks at you in the corner of her eye.

The sun is setting. You clearly are here to wait.

The metal object then promptly rises in the air and from below, four legs walk you and the crowd back to the village.
[[Wait for the object to land|Village 2]]You get back to the village. Everyone goes back to their houses. The house you woke up in is the only one that's left.
[[Stare in the distance]] [[Go back to the house]]You wait until night.
As the sun sets over the moonlit bog, the lady produces a small vial from her gown.
She holds it over your past body.
[[Wait and see]]

Waits again.
Again.
The frogs scream, and she gestures toward the man.
He wants to pick you up, clearly. They're leaving without filling the bottle.
[[Let him carry you]] [[Fight back]]You let him carry you
[[Grab his shoulders]]There's no point. He's much stronger than you, and as you struggle, he tightens his grip on you.
[[Grab his shoulders]] [[Call the birds]]You grab his shoulders as he walks back to the village.
His joints make strange creaking sounds.
[[Hold on|Village night]]You know what to do.
The 11 birds come back, as if you commanded them.
They pester the man until he lets go of you. They then grab you, carrying you back to the village.
[[Go to the village|Village night]]It is night in the village. The two masters of ceremony gesture to the house you woke up in.
[[Go back to the house]]Night arrives as you stare in the distance. You are tired.
